Hair and Beauty Skills

This qualification includes all the required elements to develop your practical hair and beauty skills including a mandatory unit in Creating an image based on a theme.

You will also have the opportunity to develop your understanding and skills further by selecting optional units including:

Basic face painting, nail art, eyebrow shaping, skincare, photographic make-up, manicure, and pedicure.

Blow-drying and finishing hair, basic winding techniques, Shampooing and treating the hair, basic plaiting and twisting hair, colour hair using semi-permanent colour, basic clipper cutting techniques and basic cutting techniques.

Through further optional units in this qualification you will also have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of:

- Working in the hair and beauty industries
- Health and safety
- Client and customer skills
-Promoting and selling products and services
- Promoting yourself and preparing for a job interview
- Create retail display areas.

You will be expected to gather evidence of both
the practical skills and underpinning knowledge for each unit you
study and create a ‘portfolio of evidence' for the qualification. You
will be assessed continually through practical assessment, exams

Level 2 Diploma in Media Hair and Makeup

Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Barbering

Learners are required to purchase a kit (Learners will be given approximate costs at interview) and enclosed toe black shoes, with no heel.
