This Level 2 qualification meets the needs of learners who want to work front of house within a hospitality environment. It is also for those learners that want a rounded knowledge of both front of house and the kitchen, which will enable them to look at more senior positions in the future.

The qualification covers all aspects of food and beverage service, it will deliver the key skills required by the learner to ensure they will have a thorough understanding of the role and expectations that any future employer will expect of them.

This course also offers an introduction to employability in the catering and hospitality industry. Learners will gain 20 hours of work experience in our college restaurant, or at Manchester's Hilton hotel, or The Monastery - as well as gain industry insight from The Chefs Forum, our industry partner.

Areas of study include health and safety awareness for catering and hospitality, Legislation in food and beverage service, understanding menus and dealing with payments and bookings, Principles of Customer Service in Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism and
Developing skills for employment in the catering and hospitality industry.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

Students will be assessed throughout the course through practical assessments and written tests to evidence their skills and knowledge.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners can look to progress onto more senior supervisory qualifications such as the Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership.

There is a huge range of job opportunities in a wide range of organisations such as hotels, restaurants, conferencing, tourism, fast food chains, commercial catering organisations, outside catering events.
