Midwife

Midwives can be men or women and are experts in childbirth. They help deliver babies but are also important throughout a pregnancy and for a month or so after the birth. Midwives work in midwife-led units, birth centres, hospitals and GP practices and also go out to home births. They can often advise parents with particular needs, for example teenage parents.
