Course Details

  • This course is an excellent starting point for anyone wanting to develop the practical and technical skills of treating and styling African style hair. Throughout the course students will work on the creative art of styling and finishing as well as relaxing techniques and treatments for African type hair.

    Students will also cover important health and safety practices and develop an understanding of how to provide an effective consultation for clients.

  • For this course you’ll need to have a hairdressing qualification or relevant experience at Level 2 or above. Applicants should also demonstrate good communication skills, creativity and a positive attitude.

  • Students will be assessed in a variety of ways including the development of a portfolio throughout the course, exams and practical assessments and observations.

  • Once you’ve completed this Level 2 qualification you’ll be able to use it to work in the hairdressing industry specifically on African Caribbean Hair types. Students may also use this to access Level 3 qualifications in hairdressing.
