Course Details

  • This course is ideal for those who have a keen interest in Animal Care, love animals and want to work with them in the future. Students will maintain animal accommodation, undertake practical animal feeding tasks, and come to understand the basic principles of Animal Biology. These modules will allow students to develop key skills needed in several land-based animal career roles, including Zookeeping, Veterinary and Animal technician jobs.

    A number of modules including an introduction to the principles and practices of Animal Behaviour and Handling will be accompanied by English and Maths skills and invaluable work experience opportunities.

  • Learners are required to have four GCSE’s Grade 4 or above or successful completion of a Vocational Level 1 course to take this course.

  • Learners will be assessed through a variety of practical and written assessments; students will also be graded on their coursework.

  • Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will be able to progress onto our Level 3 Animal Care and Management course.
