  • The Art of Plated Desserts Course is perfect for beginners and avid enthusiasts who wish to learn the essential skills and tricks from the trade to impress their dinner guests.
    Whether you enjoy hosting dinner parties or are just an avid enthusiast, The Manchester College can offer the perfect course to provide you with the skillls and knowledge to be successful within the hospitality and catering industries.
    This 6 week, part-time evening course will have a strong practical emphasis initially introducing you to the many different recipe techniques to produce the perfect desserts. Secondly, you will be taught the different finishing techniques to capture the perfect plate, manipulate chocolate, fruit coulis and plated assiettes.

    Times - 17.30-20.30

  • No formal entry requirements, but you should have a passion for dessert making and the enthusiasm to develop your skills and knowledge.

  • At the end of 6 weeks, you will have learnt the practical skills to produce two plated desserts of your choice that you will present to the class.

  • Once you have completed this introductory course you may want to undertake a more advanced cake decoration or hobby pastry course to develop your skills even furhter. Each qualification you achieve will take you closer to your ideal job in the hospitality and catering industry, giving you all the skills you need to have a successful career. You could find yourself in a huge number of different roles in this sector, including bakers, flour confectioners, kitchen and catering assistants.
