If you are interested in the aviation industry, this course is designed to give you the knowledge and understanding of the practical and theoretical elements of aviation operations.

Starting with the UK aviation industry, you will gain ground knowledge on the variety of airlines, manufacturers, airports, regulatory bodies and trade associations. Following this, you will then develop an understanding of health, safety and security requirements, ramp handling operations, on-board passenger operations, team leadership and human resources.

Topics and units depend on the pathway that is chosen upon enrolment but includes subjects such as:
• The UK Aviation Industry
• Health and Safety
• Security
• Interrelationships
• Ramp Handling
• Environmental Impacts of Aviation
• Handling Air Passengers
• On-board Passenger Operations
• Preparation for Employment

As part of this course, you are expected to carry out a minimum of two weeks work experience. Due to the enhanced checks of working at an airport and the minimum age requirements, you are likely to undertake placements within the travel and tourism sector, which will provide transferable skills to the aviation industry.
