Ideal for anyone with a passion for all things beauty and a desire to learn more about the skills and techniques involved, this Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies is the perfect place to start developing the knowledge and expertise you’ll need to be successful in this industry.
During this course, you’ll spend time focusing on a range of different beauty therapy treatments, covering all parts of the body. You’ll explore facial skin care and eyelash/eyebrow treatments, waxing techniques for hair removal, as well as manicure and pedicure skills. Alongside this you'll learn all the important aspects of working in a salon such as health and safety and communicating with clients.
As well as the mandatory units, you’ll also get the chance to study additional topics, in order to make up the credits you need for this diploma. You may choose to look at self-tanning techniques or how to pierce ears, or focus on make-up application or threading skills, all depending on your preferred interests and passions.
To enrol on this Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies, you’ll need to have at least three GSCEs at grades A*-C, including both English and a creative GCSE. You should also be committed to learning independently and working as part of a team, with good listening and communication skills, as well as an artistic flair.
How will I be assessed?
Throughout the duration of this course, you’ll be assessed in a number of different ways, including regular practical and written work, written tests, assignments and practical observations.
You’ll build up a portfolio of evidence (that will include pre-observations and final tests) and take part in a work placement to gain relevant industry experience.
