Computer-aided design is the use of computers to aid in the creation, modification, analysis or optimisation of a design, and it is widely used in a variety of industries.
This introductory course will give students insight into 2D drawing production, covering practical topics such as drawing and editing commands, drawing aids, annotation, text and dimensioning using Autocad.
Candidates should be computer literate before starting the course as it requires using a keyboard and mouse to operate the software.
The course is assessed on the number of completed drawing exercises. Correct completion of 7 of the 9 main exercises will allow the award of a college certificate of completion.
Once you've completed this course, candidates can then progress onto the CAD Intermediate course and further their skills.
Each qualification you achieve will take you closer to your ideal job in the construction and engineering industry, giving you all the skills you need to have a successful career.
