The Beauty Specialist Techniques is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills. Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and cosmetic beauty products and equipment. You will also develop a range of technical skills enabling you to prepare the skin, and apply a variety of skincare, eyelash and brow and make-up products using different techniques. To further enhance your practical skills, you will have cover the following units;
Removing hair using waxing
Manicure and pedicure treatments
You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.

4 GCSEs of grade 3 or higher including English or maths and/or prior achievement of a Level 1 Beauty Therapy qualification along with a subject specific interview.
The study programme provides an opportunity for you to develop a variety of practical, theoretical and employability skills. Within this qualification you will have the opportunity to complete work experience.

You will be studying a course where assessment of practical observations supports your programme of learning.
You will build a portfolio of evidence and assessed continually through practical assessment, exams, and assignments.

All learners are required to wear a uniform costing approximately £42 and enclosed toe black shoes, with no heel.
