  • Whilst experience of working in the legal sector is not essential, many applicants are already employed in this field.
However, it should be noted that, in order to obtain Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and qualification as a Chartered Legal Executive, it is necessary to undertake a period of qualifying employment of a predominantly legal nature.

  • All units, with the exception of Legal Research Skills and Client Care, are summatively assessed by means of a three hour written examination at the end of the unit in June.

Both Professional Skills units (Legal Research Skills and Client Care Skills) are assessed by means of coursework completed over the duration of the academic year. Final submission of coursework must by the end of April. The coursework submissions are marked by tutors at the College and then submitted to CILEx for moderation.
