Do you want to find out everything the media industry has to offer, develop the key concepts and skills required for a successful career, and explore your own creative ideas? This Level 2 Award in Creative Media Production and Technologies is the perfect place to begin.

Focusing on all the tools and techniques you'll need to create everything from 2D animations to TV and film productions, you will be using industry-standard software and working to live briefs across a number of different areas, taking projects from research and idea development stages, through experimentation, to full creation of products.

You'll learn a huge variety of skills, including graphic and games design, digital photography, marketing and how to plan, pitch, present and promote work. The abilities you'll develop will lay the foundations towards a future role in one of the largest and most exciting industries around.

4 x GCSE grade 3 or higher including English or Maths
and/or prior achievement at Level 1.

A pass or higher at vocational level 1 or NVQ level 1 may be considered as GCSE equivalent.
Creative Arts courses may require evidence of previous work, a portfolio or an audition.

You will have the opportunity to participate in a
work experience and engage with employers through live industry briefs.

There are a number of different units throughout the course, and a final major project at the end of the year that will make up your overall grade. Assessment takes on a variety of methods, and looks at everything from your research and problem solving skills to your practical production techniques.

Using modern, advanced technologies is a key part of the course, so assessment methods reflect this, with screen capturing, audio recordings and verbal presentations just some of the ways we'll check your skills are developing in the right direction.

After you've completed this course, you'll have the skills and experience needed to advance onto a Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, choosing a specific field that really interests you, including TV & Film, Games Development or Animation.

You can then continue to enhance your knowledge to a higher level, developing the abilities and expertise to secure your dream job in the industry. There are a huge number of roles to follow, with career opportunities in the media sector that range from editors and producers to designers and artists.
