Supported Internships are aimed specifically at students with Education, Health and Care plans up to the age of 24 who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

They support students through barriers to employment and is tailored to specific skills and support needs. If you are motivated about work and want to progress to paid employment, this course can help you on the path to success.

The Digital Supported Internship specifically is for students with a real interest and talent in the area of creative and digital skills. It will offer a range of related work experiences including industry workshops, digital training, employer led live briefs and work placements.

Alongside employer briefs and work placements, interns will build an online portfolio and work on specific digital training. Interns will gain an understanding of a variety of digital industries and by the end of the programme, will have a greater awareness of their career options with the goal of moving into paid employment.

Your digital career aspirations could include website development, journalism, social media marketing, photography and videography, game design, and graphic design.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

The course will predominantly be assessed through a skills development portfolio of evidence that you will build up during your time on the Digital Supported Internship.
You may also complete assessments for the Functional Skills requirements in English and Maths.
You'll attend a person-centred review during the year to assess your progress against individual EHC plan targets.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will be able to progress into employment.
