Want to develop your performing skills and learn more about the subject you are passionate about? This course might be just for you. You will study over one year in a variety of skills and techniques. You will be able to choose from either the Acting, Musical Theatre or Dance. Over the year you will be introduced to different aspects of the business and will work from both choreographed material and create your own pieces. You will discover what it takes to work as a theatre company and explore both on and off stage job roles.
Projects may include:
Technique development and research
Pantomime / Variety Show
Assessment is made up of practical and written / controlled assessments, which are internally examined. Examples of assignments previosuly set are:
• Researching choreographers, playwrights, composers
• Finding out about other job roles in the performing arts business.
This can be presented in viva vice, log book, essay or portfolio format.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed through a variety of practical and written assessments giving you the opportunity to demonstrate the skills you have developed.
Continuing Your Journey
Our students have successfully gone on to professional work within the Acting industry in Television, Theatre, Theatre in Education, Physical Theatre and Comedy. Other potential career paths include Directing (TV & Theatre), Scriptwriting, Drama Therapy, Teaching, Setting up and running your own theatre company, events management.Careers page
