If you've got a passion for engineering and would like to extend your knowledge and abilities in certain areas, then this Level 3 Diploma gives you the flexibility to focus on your chosen career or area of interest.

For this diploma, you'll need to study a total of 90 credits, which usually consists of two mandatory units plus optional units that combine to the 90-credit total. There is a wide range of units to choose from, so whether you're a qualified engineer who'd like to advance into senior technician roles or someone who is still building their industry knowledge, you'll find options to suit you.

You'll learn a number of essential skills and abilities that will prepare you for employment, with many specific to the areas you choose to study. And you'll benefit from a number of hands-on practical assignments on this course, aimed specifically at developing your knowledge and understanding of the engineering industry.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

Throughout the length of this diploma, you'll be continually assessed via both practical assignments and coursework.

If you wish to expand your knowledge in engineering further and study additional units, you'll be able to continue onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma when you have completed this course.

You'll then have a range of skills and abilities to pursue a number of different career options in engineering, depending on your passions, or you might choose to continue studying and apply for an HNC or Foundation Degree in a related subject. You'll be able to progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester. Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship.
