Overview
This Level 2 Diploma in Fashion and Textiles is the ideal route for anyone who would like to complete one of our Level 3 courses here at The Manchester College but who doesn’t yet meet the necessary entry requirements.
Throughout the year, you will have the chance to work across a range of materials and disciplines, developing your practical and analytical skills in areas such drawing, research, fashion design and construction.
You will be able to focus on your own creative potential and use your skills to find innovative solutions to a number of fashion and textile problems, some of which will be posed to you directly by employers in live briefs. This will give you real work experience of the industry and - along with sessions on study skills like reflective thinking, self-management and problem solving – will help prepare you for a future successful career. As with nearly all of our creative qualifications, this Diploma is awarded by University of the Arts London Awarding Body - the only specialist creative arts awarding body in the UK -
Entry requirements
4 x GCSE grade 3 or higher including English or Maths and/or prior achievement at Level 1.

How will I be assessed?
During this Level 2 Diploma in Fashion and Textiles, you will be assessed via a range of creative briefs, each designed to combine practical and theoretical studies and challenge you to develop creative solutions. You’ll also take part in fashion workshops, presentations and fashion shows.

Continuing Your Journey
Learners who successfully complete our UAL Level 2 Diploma in Fashion and Textiles, can progress onto our UAL Level 3 Diploma course.
