Are you passionate about fitness? Do you want to turn your hobby into a career? Would you like to work in a gym and help others achieve their fitness goals with an industry-recognised qualification? If so, this Level 2 Fitness Instructor course is perfect for you.
You'll learn how to prescribe, plan and deliver safe and effective exercise programmes and sessions within a gym or health club environment. This will include units on health and safety, anatomy and physiology for exercise, and the principles of exercise, fitness & health.
As part of the course, you'll also develop excellent customer service skills and the personal qualities you'll need to support clients taking part in activities with you. The Manchester College is an Active IQ-approved centre, so you'll receive high quality, industry-relevant training for this Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction.
If you'd like to enrol on this course, you'll need to have a Level 1 in Maths and English, along with a keen interest in personal fitness. It's a practical course, so you'll need to be physically fit, and you should also have good communication & motivational skills, with the ability to work well with clients.
We'll invite you for an interview and ask you to pass some basic English and maths tests before offering you a place.
During your time on the course you'll be assessed regularly in your sessions to check you're learning everything you need to, including taking part in practical observations, completing sample paperwork and filling in self-evaluation forms.
You'll also complete formal assessments set by the awarding body for each unit, including multiple choice theory tests, worksheets and case studies, and practical observation sessions.
With this REPS recognised Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction, you'll have the solid foundations needed to work as a qualified fitness instructor in gyms and health clubs.
You'll also have the knowledge and qualification to advance onto a higher-level course with us at The Manchester College. You could enrol on a Personal Trainer, Exercise Referral, or Nutrition and Weight Management qualification, with each course opening up new career opportunities in the industry.
