Course Details

  • Are you 19 years old or above and do you speak English as a second language? If you do, then this ESOL Study Programme will help you improve your English skills!

You will focus on your reading and speaking abilities in English, as well as learn lots of different skills that will help you enjoy a successful career in the future.

This course helps you learn more about the English language but it also helps you to improve in other areas like Maths and ICT. You will practice tasks that you’ll need when you get a job, so that you can confidently talk to people and pass interviews.

We will then help you find another course that you would like to study. Or we will work with you and employers to find a good job role for you!

  • We will invite you for an interview so you can tell us about yourself - you don’t need to have any kind of qualifications to take this course.

You should want to learn about the British culture and other countries too. And you need to be ready to work hard, turn up to class every day, and practice your English at home as well as at college. Due to Government changes to grading systems for GCSES in 16/17, please follow the below link to see specific entry criteria for school leavers School Leaver Entry Requirements

  • You will have some tests at the end of each part of this course, to make sure you have learnt what you need to be successful. These will be in English, Maths and ICT.

We also work with you, making sure you have a good selection of skills to help you get a job. And a part of your grade will be based on how often you turn up to class, focus on learning and complete classwork and homework.

  • We will help you decide on what to do next after finishing this course. You will have improved your English and other skills, so you may want to learn even more! You could take a GCSE in English or Maths, or do a course in an area that you find interesting.

Our team will also help you use all the other skills you have learnt to find a job you want to do. You will soon have a good career to follow!
