Overview
If you’ve always wanted to work in the TV, film or fashion industry as a professional make-up artist, this Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-Up Studies is the ideal place to begin. You’ll get a fantastic introduction to the whole sector and begin to develop all the skills and techniques you need to succeed.
You’ll learn how to look at a specific theme within the hair and beauty community and create a relevant image based on it, as well as taking a closer look at the art of photographic make-up and all the relevant health and safety practices that are an integral part of the industry. You’ll also have a wide selection of units to choose from, to customise your diploma to your specific interests.
Whether you want to learn how to create body art design and themed face painting, effectively provide eyelash perming and eyebrow shaping, or learn the techniques involved in skin tanning, you’ll be developing a number of different skills that will prepare you for higher level courses and a future job in the industry. -

How will I be assessed?
While a large part of this diploma will be focused on practical assignments and observations to check you’re developing all the relevant skills and abilities for the industry, you’ll also be assessed at various stages throughout the year with written work and tests to help you build up a strong portfolio of evidence.

With this Level 2 Diploma, you’ll have the skills and qualification you need to advance onto a Level 3 course with us here at The Manchester College. A great next step is to continue onto a Diploma in Fashion, Theatre and Media Hair and Make-Up Studies.
