Courses within our Industry Excellence Academy meet the needs of industry and prepare you for work in the sector. On this T Level Transition Programme in Hairdressing, you to develop a general understanding of the hair and beauty sector, including:
- Business context, including how the sector operates
- Health and Safety regulations
- Safe working practices
- An understanding of the client journey
- Client consultation
- Self-development

You will gain skills specific to the Hairdressing industry, including:
- Keeping the salon clean and tidy
- Shampooing and conditioning hair
- Styling hair
- Cutting and shaping hair.
Alongside your studies, you'll undertake a minimum 15-day work experience as well as having regular guest speakers, workshops from industry experts, working to live briefs and more. You'll also be assigned a specialist employability tutor to support and prepare you for the world of work.

GCSE English or maths at Grade 4 with the other at Grade 3, or Level 2 Functional Skills
Attendance at our Jump Start programme.

To gain this qualification, candidates must successfully achieve the following assessments:
- Synoptic assessments
- Externally set, externally moderated assignment
- Externally set, externally marked exam

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will... be able to progress on to our Level 3, T Level in Hairdressing
