Course Details

  • This Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care is designed for anyone who is passionate about caring for others and making a difference in the community. Whether you’re expanding your knowledge from a Level 2 course or just starting your journey into the health and social care world, this diploma will give you the advanced knowledge you need for a successful future.

    You’ll have the opportunity to study a wide range of topics, each of which will give you the skills and abilities to follow a rewarding career in this sector. You’ll cover all the vital aspects of social care, including health and safety, communication, and equality and diversity. You’ll then dive deeper into anatomy and physiology, life stages development, as well ad=s diet and nutrition, in order to give you a wider understanding of the core factors at play in this industry.

    As part of the course, you’ll also take part in a work placement to provide you with practical first-hand experience of health and social care. Not only will this help you develop relevant knowledge for the course, it will also give you essential skills to help you secure a good job in the future.

  • You’ll need to have at least 4 GCSEs in total at grade C or above, including both English and Maths, if you’d like to enrol on this course. Alternatively, if you’re advancing from a previous Level 2 course, you should have a Merit grade in Health and Social Care.

  • A large part of this course will be assessed via coursework, which will include a combination of practical assessments, essays and presentations. You will also need to conduct 100 hours of placement in a health and social care setting each year.

  • When you have completed this Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, you’ll have a huge range of options open to you to take your knowledge, skills and abilities to the next level with us at The Manchester College.

    You could advance onto a HNC or HND in Health and Social Care, a BA (Hons) degree in the subject, or a range of career-focused degrees in nursing, childcare and social work. Alternatively, you’ll find a host of careers in health, care and wellbeing open to you already!
