This level 2 course is ideal for anyone who wants to develop a broad knowledge of hardware and operating system technologies and includes practical experience of installation, configuration, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and basic networking.
Designed with the needs of employers in mind, this qualification offers learners the chance to prepare for the vendor specific certification (CompTIA A+). Managing small to medium size networks and the installation of Software and Hardware will form a central part of this course, alongside the maintenance of these systems. You will also learn the principles of ICT Customer Support, principles of ICT systems and data security.
The course is delivered through lectures and workshops and is highly practical that enhances your problem-solving skills.
You should have a level 1 qualification in a related subject and level 1 functional skills in English and maths. There will also be an assessment during enrolment. Above this, a passion for computer systems and network technologies is required.
How will I be assessed?
At regular intervals during the course, you’ll be assessed on both your theoretical knowledge and practical understanding. This will include online tests, written assignments and observed practical sessions.
Continuing Your Journey
Completing this Level 2 course will give you the qualifications you need to advance onto a Level 3 course. For example, you could apply for Level 3 in ICT Systems and Principles for IT Professionals (CCENT) and (MTA), Digital Technologies or Computer Science with Mobile Applications Development.Careers page
The diverse set of skills that you develop will prepare you to pursue a career as a systems analyst, system support technician or field service technician.
