Course Details

  • This level 3 course is ideal for anyone who wants to seek entry level jobs in the ICT industry or wishes to specialize their IT skills. This course incorporates developing skills required to achieve the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) certification, which is the first step toward achieving advanced Cisco qualifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching, CCNA Voice, CCNA Security and CCNA Wireless.

    Managing small to medium size networks and Cisco routing and switching will form a central part of this course alongside principles of ICT Customer Support, ICT systems and data security.

  • You should have a level 2 qualification in a related subject and level 1 functional skills in English and maths. A good understanding of computer systems and network technologies is also required and will be assessed during enrolment.

  • At regular intervals during the course, you will be assessed on both your theoretical knowledge and practical understanding. This will include online tests, written assignments and observed practical sessions.

  • Completing this Level 3 course will give you the qualifications you need to advance onto a higher level of study. You could apply for university courses or enrol on one of our foundation degrees in Network Engineering with Administration, Computer Network Security with Ethical Hacking, Computer Systems Engineering and Software Development.

    The diverse set of skills that you develop will prepare you to pursue a career as Network Engineer, Network Administrator, Network Support Technician, Information Technology (IT), Support Specialist Infrastructure, Support Engineer and Field Service Technician.
