This course is part of our Industry Excellence Academy and is designed to support your transition to T Levels. The course has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares you for your future career.

Through an external work placement within the Health and Social Care sector, you will have the ability to confidently practise health care procedures and understand the theory behind them.

You can expect to study:

• Human body systems and care disorders
• Effective communication in health and social care
• Carrying out research projects in health and social care
• Work placement in health and social care
• Infection control in health and social care.

Those successful in gaining a place on the Transition Programmes will be eligible for the ‘T Award', a package of benefits that includes:

Applicants must possess 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English. Applicants also require an Enhanced DBS check in order to study on this course. Opportunity to attend a three-week summer school.

Students will be assessed through a series of formal examinations and coursework projects, as well as 100 hours of supported work experience.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will be able to progress on to our new exciting Level 3 T-Level industry linked course, launching in September 2021 and the opportunity to choose two different career pathways in the Health and Social Care sector.
