Our Digital Production, Design and Development T Level – equivalent to three A Levels - has been co-developed and designed with our industry partners to meet the needs of industry and prepare you for work in the Computing and Digital sector.

As one of our Industry Excellence Academy programmes, by studying this course you'll be working with industry specialists, who will give you the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to pursue a career as a software developer or web developer.

This programme of study has been developed in partnership with Silverchip, who have provided industry expertise and input on the design and development of assignments and projects you'll work on. Throughout your studies Silverchip and our other industry partners will give you the opportunity to enter competitions and take part in guest lectures.

This T Level will help you develop your knowledge and skills if you wish to pursue a career in web or software development by studying subjects such as programming, data, digital environments, security and more.

You'll undertake employability sessions as part of this programme of study with a heavy influence in working towards increasing soft skills in order to make you more employable. You will also be required to complete a work placement of at least 315 hours with one of our employer partners such as Silverchip.

*Subject to requirements including 95% attendance, positive attitude and grade profile

Applicants must have 5 GCSE's including Grade 4 and above in English and Maths, while a previous qualification in digital is desirable. Applicants will also be required to undergo an interview as part of the application process.

The course is assessed by an externally set written exam, an employer set task and an externally assessed synoptic assessment that covers the occupational specialism. This will be achieved by completing a range of different assignments, including coursework and frequent live briefs set by employers in Greater Manchester.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners could progress on to study a Foundation Degree in Software Development or Network Engineering with our higher education partner UCEN Manchester and follow this up with an optional top-up year to earn a BA (Hons) degree.Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship.
