T Levels are new courses, which will follow GCSEs and will be equivalent to 3 A levels. These 2-year courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares you for work.
On this Industry Excellence Academy course, you will spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement with an employer to give you the skills and knowledge that companies look for.
Your course starts with the essential knowledge and skills to work in health or science including how the industry works, core scientific concepts and key regulations, including managing information, health and safety and good scientific/clinical practice. You will specialise in supporting healthcare and you will focus on the care of children and young people.
When you have completed your T Level qualification, you will receive an overall grade of Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*.
T Levels are a great new choice after your GCSEs.

Learners are required to have achieved 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or higher including English, maths and science. Successful completion of a three-week Summer School is also required. Opportunity to attend a three-week summer school in July.
How will I be assessed?
Over the course of your studies, you will complete a number of assessments including:
• Synoptic Assessments
• Work Placement with employer-led projects
In addition to this, English, maths and general digital skills will be integrated within the qualification in occupationally relevant contexts.
You can expect to study:
• The healthcare sector
• Providing person-centred care
• Health and wellbeing
• Further science concepts
• Health and safety regulations applicable in the healthcare sector
• Infection prevention and control in health specific settings
• Managing personal information
• Assisting with clinical tasks and treatment for children and young people
• Providing care and support to children and young people before, during and after clinical or therapeutic procedures
• Supporting parents, families and carers to meet the needs of the CYP.

Your T Level will be worth UCAS points. A T Level Distinction* is worth the same as 3 A Levels at A* – and will be recognised by universities and other education providers.
UCAS points will only be allocated to your overall T Level grade. You must achieve at least an overall pass grade to receive UCAS points.
