If you already know the basics of cake decoration then why not challenge yourself with our Intermediate Cake Decorating course. It’s perfect for enthusiasts who wish to learn the tricks of the trade to improve their skills and impress their friends and family.
Whether you are thinking about setting up in business, making cakes and cupcakes for special occasions or just an avid enthusiast, The Manchester College can offer the perfect course to provide you with the skills and knowledge to be successful within the hospitality and catering industries.
This highly practical, 10-week part-time course will teach you cake decoration techniques to produce the perfect cupcake or celebration cake. Secondly, you will be taught a range of decorating mediums such as royal icing and sugar paste, creating flowers and modelling figurines.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but you should have a passion for cake making and the enthusiasm to develop your skills and knowledge.
How will I be assessed?
At the end of the ten weeks, you will have learnt the practical skills to produce a variety of products that you will present to the class.

Once you’ve completed this introductory course, you may want to undertake a more advanced cake decoration or hobby pastry course to develop your skills even further.Careers page
