Course Details

  • This six week course is designed to gain knowledge and skills in curly hair types.

    It is specifically design to develop practical and technical skills in the relaxing African type hair, the creative art of styling and finishing African type hair, and how to provide an effective consultation service for clients.

    The purpose of this course is to develop practical skills to work in the African Carribbean hair industry.

  • Students are required to have a reasonable standard of hairdressing ability to enable you to cope with the particular skills required for this type of work. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of hair structure and types and good listening and communication skills, as well as having an artistic flair and a positive attitude to work.

  • You will be assessed through demonstrations and observation as you are carrying out treatments.

  • Upon successful completion of this qualification, students can advance their Hair and Beauty skills by enrolling on to Level 3 Advanced Hairdressing Techniques or Level 2 Women’s Hairdressing.
