This qualification will help students gain the knowledge and skills of health screening and health monitoring in the sport and leisure industry. Areas covered by this course include health screening procedures and questionnaires, client consultation, medical referral, health monitoring tests, and evaluating health test results to prescribe appropriate exercise guidelines.
Applicants will need to be aged 19 or over and physically active to be enrolled on this course. They will also need to have basic communication skills at Level 2, due to an element of presenting, reading and writing involved.
How will I be assessed?
Assessments for this qualification are made up of a variety of practical demonstrations of health-based tests and summative worksheets.
Continuing Your Journey
Upon successful completion of this qualification students will be able to progress onto a Level 2 Fitness Instructing course or a Level 3 Exercise Referral course. Students can also use this qualification to follow a career in exercise referral, fitness instruction or personal training.Careers page
