Course Details

  • Introduction to Adobe InDesign will introduce you to the many uses of the Adobe InDesign including the design of magazines, leaflets, books, posters, flyers…pretty much anything where large amounts of text needs to be combined with images in a creative way.
    Different practical tasks each week will introduce all of the tools needed to create different designs.
    The course will explore layout and design themes and styles to improve the overall look of the designs as well as:
    • Uses of InDesign
    • Setting up pages, using the grid system
    • Saving files and preparing documents for print
    • Combing text and images
    • Magazine layouts and 2/3 fold leaflets
    • What makes good design
    • The rules of typography and layout and how to break them

  • There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, you will require basic computer skills.

  • The course will be informally assessed throughout to ensure you understand the techniques that are being taught. There will be no formal graded assignments.

  • Once you’ve completed this introductory course, you may want to undertake a more specific graphic design courses such as an Introduction to Adobe Illustrator to develop your skills even further.

    You can then continue to enhance your knowledge to a higher level, developing your abilities and expertise to secure your dream job in the industry.
