Introduction to the Hair and Beauty sector

The VTCT Award in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector is a short qualification that has been designed to introduce you to a range of practical skills from across the hair and beauty industries.

This qualification is very flexible and will allow you to choose from optional units ranging from: basic manicure or pedicure to styling men's or women's hair. Each unit you choose to study will be underpinned by knowledge and understanding of the subject

This qualification has been designed to provide you with an insight into the hair and beauty industry. After successfully completing this qualification, you could seek employment as a supervised assistant/apprentice or further learning in the hairdressing and beauty therapy industries within college.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Students will be assessed through practical observation and the tutor's assessment of their understanding and knowledge.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners could progress to a certificate or diploma in hairdressing or beauty therapy.
