Course Details

  • This course will provide learners with an introduction to the animal care sector and opportunities to develop a range of skills, techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life.

    You’ll focus on practical skills and tasks related to the care of a wide range of animals. You’ll also take part in sessions at a Geodome – where you will be given the opportunity to engage in the cultivation of plants and vegetables that will then be used to feed animals.

  • There are no formal qualifications required for this course.

  • This course is assessed via internal assessments which are set and marked by teachers. These include tasks on being organised, developing a personal progression plan, practical observations, presentations, projects and test.

  • Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners can progress onto our Level 2 Extended Certificate in Animal Care.
