Overview
If you are a trade union representative or member who has already completed the three-day Mental Health Awareness short course, but wish to develop your knowledge further, then this is the course for you.
Complete the Level 2 Mental Health Certificate and you’ll expand your understanding of mental health issues in the workplace. You’ll learn how to deal with any such issues when they arise and focus on promoting workplace wellbeing for every employee.
As well as developing a theoretical awareness of relevant legislation and employer policies, you’ll also be learning the skills needed to act on behalf of any worker who may experience mental health issues. You’ll complete some practical work to put these skills to the test and prepare you for real-life situations. -
Entry requirements
To enrol on this Level 2 Certificate, you’ll need to have previously completed the TUC Mental Health Awareness three-day short course and be authorised by your organisation to attend.
-
How will I be assessed?
Throughout this year-long course, you’ll be assessed by portfolio and tutor assessment.
-
Continuing Your Journey
After completing this course, you’ll have a comprehensive understanding of mental health issues in the workplace and will be able to take on a full-time paid union official role to deal with any situations that might arise relating to this sensitive area. You could also continue onto further TUC/Unionlearn programmes too to enhance your knowledge in other areas.
