Course Details

  • If you need to drive a minibus from time-to-time as part of your job and you want the confidence to drive safely on the road with a certificate to prove your competence, this training course is perfect for you – especially if you occasionally need to tow a trailer as well.

This MuST Plus short course focuses on minibus safety training and the skills you’ll need to correctly tow a trailer. As you build your knowledge of good practice and the legal responsibilities you’ll have, you’ll also improve your awareness of Duty of Care and the eco-safe driving techniques you could employ.

To help you develop your practical abilities towing a trailer, you’ll benefit from on-the-road training reversing a minibus with a trailer attached, as well as learning how to safely couple and uncouple it from the rear of the vehicle.

  • You should hold a full UK/EU licence if you want to enrol on this course, with a category D1+E.

  • As well as a written assessment based on the legal and safety knowledge you’ve learnt, you’ll also take part in a practical demonstration to test your skills driving a minibus with a trailer. A written observation report of this will be sent to your employer.

  • When you complete this short course, you’ll receive a certificate that is valid for three years, giving you the confidence and abilities to drive a minibus and pull a trailer, which your employer will highly value.

If you wish to develop your driving abilities further and learn the skills needed for other licence categories, there are a number of courses available at The Manchester College.
