(Full Time - 36 weeks)
This qualification will help students explore the music industry and develop their own skills as a performer. Students will work on developing as an individual performer as well as learning key skills for working as part of a musical ensemble. Alongside practical work students will also explore music theory and learn how to plan and create a music product.
Applicants will need have at least two GCSE’s at a Grade 4/3 or above and should be working toward their English and maths at a grade 4. Students should show a keen interest in music performance and will be asked to take part in a practical audition and interview to assess their practical skills.
How will I be assessed?
Assessments for this qualification are a mix of theory and performance based. Students will be assessed in their contribution within rehearsals as well as on their performance at gigs and events. Students will also undertake written assignments on music theory and the industry.
Continuing Your Journey
Upon successful completion of this qualification students will be able to progress onto a level 3 qualification Music and eventually progress to higher education. Experience gained throughout the qualification may also help them in gaining successful employment upon completion as musicians, promotors, music events managers, producers and many more.Careers page
