Our Level 3 Paralegal Practice qualification is suitable for anybody who performs substantive legal work but is not qualified in the area or anyone who is seeking to qualify and become a solicitor or barrister.
The qualification is ideal for anybody looking to gain entry into a legal profession or requires legal skills and knowledge in the legal field.
Paralegals may work in commerce, industry, or the public sector and they can also now offer some legal services directly to their own clients provided they have a Licence to Practise through NALP.
This qualification includes topics covering an extensive range of legal matters that will help you progress in your legal career including modules on Introduction to Law including Contract and Tort Law, Legal Ethics and Responsibilities, Civil Litigation, Conveyancing and Land Law and Commercial Law.
The course will run one day a week (six hours per week) and consists of five modules to be completed over one year.
Applicants will require a GCSE English (D/3 or above) or L2 Functional Skills in English. Experience of working in the capacity of an administrator in a legal environment would be useful but not essential.
To receive the full qualification, you will be required to complete and achieve all five modules.
You will be given a four week window to submit assignments for each module:
- Introduction to Law including Contract and Tort Law
- Legal Ethics and Responsibilities
- Civil Litigation
- Conveyancing and Land Law
- Commercial Law
You will be supported throughout by your tutor to ensure your work is ready for submission and external assessment. There are no exams.
