Course Details

  • This qualification will help you perfect your knowledge, skills and understanding needed to produce patisserie and confectionary products. Throughout the course you’ll cover a range of modules including preparing and producing complex petit fours, hot and cold desserts, display pieces, enriched dough products, cakes, biscuits and sponges. Alongside these technical skills you’ll also cover key principals of food safety as well as developing your communication skills to create a productive working environment.

  • To apply for this course applicant should hold a level 2 qualification in professional cookery or patisserie and confectionary as well as GCSE’s in English and maths at grades 3-9. Those with relevant experience within the industry may also be considered.

  • Students will be assessed throughout the course through practical and theoretical assessments as well as through work placements.

  • Upon successful completion of this course students can use these qualifications to study at a higher level or work towards becoming skilled in their ideal job in the hospitality and catering industry. Job roles in this sector include patisserie chef, cook, kitchen and catering assistants. Students may also wish to use their qualification and industry experience to apply for higher level management roles or qualifications.
