If you or one of your employees has recently been involved in a road traffic collision driving a passenger carrying vehicle (PCV), or they want to get back to work as a bus driver after a long period of absence, this half-day category D and DE assessment course is perfect.
It will test your current skills and driving standards and identify any areas where improvement is required or where there are safety concerns. Focusing on defensive driving techniques and the ability to forward plan, anticipate and create observational links, you’ll be put through your paces to ensure your abilities are up to scratch and you can safely drive passengers in a bus or other similar vehicle.
Whether you’re a driver or an employer, this short course will give you the assurance that either yourself or your employees have the relevant safety skills to drive a PCV, in line with the category D and DE licence requirements. You’ll receive a certificate valid for three years to prove this.
All you need to take this course is a full and valid UK/EU licence, with category D or D+E.
How will I be assessed?
Your theoretical knowledge will be assessed via a written test and you’ll take part in a practical assessment to test your driving skills. Your employer will receive a written observation report of this driving assessment.
Continuing Your Journey
With a certificate of training to prove your skills and competence, you’ll be able to return to driving passenger vehicles with the knowledge and confidence that you are a safe and effective driver, as well as continue your career development.Careers page
