Do you want to explore your musical theatre skills in the heart of a vibrant, artistic city which is home to The Manchester International Festival? Join us and study with musical theatre industry professionals within reach of professional venues and with access to industry level theatres.
You will further develop your acting, dance and singing skills. You will learn about current industry trends and practices and develop your repertoire . As well as this, we will prepare you for your next steps towards the industry helping you hone your audition skills and teaching you how to network and operate as a freelance performer. As part of this we will help you find industry relevent work experience.
Example units: singing skills, song and dance, auditions for actors, jazz, ballet, tap and contemporary.
You will have multiple performance opportunities throughout the two years including the iconic Manchester venue, Band on the Wall.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.
The course uses a mixture of practical performances, skills demonstrations and written coursework to assess how you're progressing. All written work will form a part of a larger practical piece, and could include research on directors, playwrights, choreographers or anything that underpins your performance!
Our students have gone on to study at some of the top drama schools in the country, such as MADD, Italia Conte, Laine and Mountview to name but a few.
There are number of next steps you can take to continue your journey with The Manchester College and further develop your musical theatre skills. You could move onto an HNC course in the discipline, or enrol directly onto a BA (Hons) degree in Musical Theatre at The Arden School of Theatre. You can also choose to Progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester. Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship.

Alternatively, you could explore a whole range of careers related to musical theatre and performing arts, and like many of our past students could soon find yourself working on the West End, on cruise ships, in TV or film, theatre or teaching.
