If you love all things health and fitness, and would like to earn a living and forge a career in the fitness industry, a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification is the ideal course to turn your passion into a rewarding job.
You’ll develop all the skills, knowledge and competence you’ll need to work as a fully qualified personal trainer, with a qualification that is recognised and approved by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). This will enable you to offer one-to-one training, baseline assessment, nutritional advice and progressive programming, specific to the individual needs of your client.
As part of this Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, you’ll study four core units. These cover anatomy and physiology for exercise and health, how to apply the principles of nutrition, how to create a programme of personal training for your clients, and how to effectively deliver one-to-one sessions.
To be eligible for this Level 3 course, you’ll need to already hold a Level 2 Fitness/Gym Instructors award. Other sports awards cannot be accepted. We’ll ask you to pass some basic English and maths tests when you apply too.
You’ll also need to have a good level of physical fitness for this practical course, along with excellent communication and motivational skills, the ability to work independently and the ability to build a good client rapport.
How will I be assessed?
Your assessment for this course will be made up of a number of different methods, including: multiple choice theory tests on anatomy and physiology and nutrition; the completion of an 8 week client programme and detailed programme cards; practical assessments; case studies and worksheets.
Continuing Your Journey
With this Level 3 ActiveIQ Personal Trainer Award, you’ll have the REPs industry-recognised qualification you need to work in a gym or health club environment and start training clients right away. You’ll be able to follow your own career path in the industry, and work to your own schedule.Careers page
