Course Details

  • The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Award in Principles of Business Administration is designed to provide learners with an introduction to the occupational knowledge, skills and attitudes that are required for employment in roles such as Personal Assistant, Office Executive or Administration Team Leader. Learners may already be in employment in one of these roles, be newly appointed or have the intention to work in one of these roles.

    This 32 week course, starting on 11th September 2018, will provide you with an understanding of the core underpinning knowledge needed to support employment in the business world. This includes the principles of providing key administrative services such as planning meetings and managing diaries, supervising an administrative team, supporting environmental sustainability and understanding how to communicate effectively in business environments.

    The course further allows you to develop the knowledge and understanding that supports personal performance and development and broader cross-organisation processes. This includes managing own performance and development, developing and maintaining productive relationships, supporting business functions, supporting change in a business environment and business data and information management.

    Modules will include:

    • Managing projects
    • Supervising an office facility
    • Budgeting
    • Business principles
    • Providing customer service.

  • You do not need to have any previous qualifications to apply for the course, but you should have a reasonable level of English. We will conduct a short initial assessment of these skills to check your current abilities, and interview to confirm your interest and understanding of the course and whether it is suitable for you.

  • The course is assessed through a variety of in class written assessments and practical activities.

  • Once you’ve completed this course, you may want to undertake a more advanced qualification such as the Level 4 qualification in Business Administration to develop your skills even further.

    Each qualification you achieve will take you closer to your ideal job in the business world, giving you all the skills you need to have a successful career. You could find yourself in a huge number of different roles in this sector, including being a manager in customer services, HR, administration, retail, finance or even marketing!
