Course Details

  • This course is a great starting point if you have an interest in working in the hospitality industry and want to develop your skills. Students will learn how to prepare and cook food in a variety of ways, as well as take on elective units to enhance their knowledge on kitchen equipment and nutrition.

  • Students should have GCSE grades 3-9 or have some experience working in the hospitality and catering industry. Students should have attained or be working towards their English and Math qualifications and have a passion for the hospitality industry.

  • You’ll be assessed through a variety of practical and written assessments giving you the opportunity to demonstrate the skills you have developed.

  • Once you’ve completed this course you’ll have the opportunity to progress onto a level 2 qualification in either Professional Cookery or a Patisserie and Confectionery. Students may also use their newly developed skills to gain employment in the hospitality industry.
