Our level 1 course will see you taking part in a range of practical and work related skill sessions. You'll learn the basics of handling, feeding, transporting and caring for small animals like rabbits, rats, mice and guinea pigs. By the end of the course, you'll have gained plenty of practical skills and a better understanding of the animal care sector.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

Assist with the care of animals (Mandatory)
Principles of the Care of animals (mandatory)
Maintain the safety of self and others in the workplace
Principles of the movement and handling of small animals
Assist with feedstuff for small animals
Assist with maintaining the health and well Being of Animals
You will be assessed via practical and written assessment

Upon successful completetion of this qualification learners will be able to progress onto Level 2 Animal Care.
