Course Details

  • If you are wanting to gain an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school and college environments, then this course is for you.
    The qualification covers all aspects of specialist support including planning, delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher, bilingual support, special needs support, personal development and reflective practice.


  • This course requires a minimum of a Level 2 Literacy, which can be assess at interview, or have a Level 2 English qualification.

  • This course will be assessed through assignments and observations of workplace practice.

  • Upon successful completion of this qualification, students can progress on to Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HTLA) or Level 4 Foundation Degree in Childhood and Youth Studies.
