Are you ready to step into the vibrant world of live events and venues? This T Level course in Events and Venues Technician offers you an exciting opportunity to build your future in the creative and technical industries, whether that be in West End theatres, Arena tours or live music gigs. This course will provide you with the key skills and training to become employable.

Gain industry-relevant skills and knowledge through a mix of theoretical and practical learning. The curriculum includes:

Core Skills:
Planning and implementing live events and productions.
Working collaboratively in diverse teams.
Maintaining and utilising industry-standard equipment.
Managing client requirements and delivering tailored solutions.

Specialised Training:
Staging and lighting for events.
Audio-visual technology setup.
Health and safety standards.
Post-event evaluation and improvements.

You'll also complete a substantial industry placement (minimum 315 hours) to experience real-world projects and build your professional network at our partner venues Contact theatre, Band on The Wall or in our in-house industry standard theatre.

Minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 (including English and Math) or equivalent Level 2 qualifications.
Demonstrated interest or experience in event production, media, or related fields is advantageous.
A strong desire to develop technical, creative, and organisational skills.

Learners pursuing the T Level in Media, Broadcast, and Production (Events and Venues Technician Pathway) will be assessed through a combination of core and occupational specialism components, ensuring a robust evaluation of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Assessment Components
1. Core Component (60% Written Exam, 40% Employer Set Project)
Written Examination:
Content: Covers underpinning industry knowledge such as legislation, professionalism, cultural context, audience, and project methodologies.

Employer Set Project (ESP):
Content: A practical project set by industry professionals, requiring learners to apply core knowledge to a real-world scenario.
2. Occupational Specialism Component
Specialism-Specific Project:
Events and Venues Technician Pathway requires learners to undertake a skills-based project assessed on:

Planning and Coordination: Interpreting client requirements and planning events or productions.
Implementation: Using and maintaining equipment during events.
Evaluation: Assessing how the event met requirements and identifying improvements.
