Industry Excellence Academy Professional Cookery (Technical)

Our T Level Transition Programme in Professional Cookery is for you if you are 16 or over and would like to work in the hospitality and catering sector as a chef.

During the course you'll get an introduction to professional cookery and learn out about safe working practices in the hospitality industry as well as the tools and equipment commonly used in the industry.

You'll get experience in a range of cooking techniques such as boiling, poaching and steaming, stewing and braising, baking, roasting and grilling, and deep frying and shallow frying. You'll also have the chance to produce cold food products.

You'll require grades 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent at GCSE and a previous Level 1 Professional Cookery qualification or experience working in the hospitality and catering sector.

You must also have a passion for the hospitality and catering industry and professional cookery.

You'll be assessed through practical and theoretical exams.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, you'll have the opportunity to progress onto our Level 3 Professional Cookery, Hospitality Supervisory or Patisserie and Confectionary qualifications ahead of starting a career in the hospitality and catering industry.

This qualification is fully funded for learners aged 16-18, however, you will require a chefs uniform which is part of your PPE and can be purchased through the College.
