Overview
This counselling practitioner qualification is designed to equip students with practitioner-level training to practice as a therapeutic counsellor.
The qualification explored in depth the theory and applications of person-centered therapy as well as taking a close look at contemporary developments in the ever-changing field of therapy. Students will focus on the Pluralistic Framework for Counselling and Therapy and use this to take a holistic view of the person and their treatment. This framework recognises that individuals have a diverse range or personal resources and potential that can be unlocked in a safe, therapeutic environment.
This programme equips students to work in a range of settings in health services, prisons, community-based organisations, charities supporting people across a broad spectrum, substance misuse services, and services for specific age groups; this course also equips students for best practice where the number of counselling sessions is limited.
This full time course requires a significant time commitment due to its nature; students will undertake workshops days, placement, casework supervision and extra study outside of classes.
