  • An opportunity to gain a wealth of experience and knowledge working as a tourism manager in preparation for direct employment within the Tourism and Hospitality management industry or further study.

    The FdA Travel and Tourism course is designed to give students a real insight into being a manager within the tourism industry. we place a strong focus on developing your managerial skills as well as increasing your knowledge of the industry and how it operates. The course explores all aspects of the industry including airline and airport operations, tour operations management, sustainable destination management, business tourism and other key management modules. Whether you are looking to move up the career ladder or expand your industry knowledge this is the course for you.

    This is a full-time course that is predominantly classroom-based, with the opportunity to participate in educational residential that have direct links to learning, access to guest speakers from the industry and field trips ranging from outdoor adventure activities to behind the scenes in one of Europe's largest airports.

    Undertaking learning in a work-based environment is an integral part of this course, enabling students to expand their knowledge of the industry and develop transferrable practical skills in a real-life environment.

  • • The ideal candidate will have a passion for Tourism and customer service management, be creative and enthusiastic
    • All applicants will be required to apply through UCAS and should have a minimum of 64 UCAS points. Applicants may be invited to attend an interview where they will be asked to provide examples of written work and industry experience
    • Non-traditional students who can demonstrate relevant skills or knowledge gained in employment or vocational activity may also apply but will be subject to an interview.

  • The learner's practical and theoretical expertise will be developed and be assessed through experience in workshops, classrooms and external environments. The learner will be exposed to a series of information through tutor-led classes and project-based briefs and individual development support.

    You will be enrolled as an external student with Manchester Metropolitan University

  • • Bacon’s Tourism Management at Manchester Metropolitan University or at another institution

    Graduates from this programme are expected to find employment in a variety of multi-disciplinary practices, including events, festivals, wedding planning, hospitality and cruises.

    On graduating, students from this programme have a very successful track record in securing a range of management and operational positions within the vibrant Event Management Industry locally as well as UK wide and globally.
