Take the first step to making a positive difference in workplace health and safety with this stage 1 course.
Designed to help you build the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to carry out your work as a safety rep, you will gain an understanding of the role and functions of a trade union health and safety rep and also be introduced to topics such as the prevention of accidents and ill health.
You will need to be a representative of a TUC affiliated trade union and have authorisation from your organisation to attend.
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be monitored and assessed by your tutor throughout the duration of this 10-week course via assignment and classroom/workplace-based activities.
Continuing Your Journey
Completing this course enables you to progress on to the next stage of TUC health and safety training, TUC Health and Safety Stage 2 (Next Steps for Safety Reps), you can also enrol on further TUC and Unionlearn programmes.Careers page
