With our industry-standard technology suites and the most advanced software and products, you could be learning how to build computer games and programme new apps, or be hacking into computer networks to test their security.

You’ll develop your technical prowess, improve your coding skills and explore how computer systems and IT solutions can be used across a wide variety of industries for a number of different business applications. Seeing how vital these skills will be for all companies, you’ll understand why there are many career opportunities to choose from!

  • In our technology suites, each packed with state-of-the-art equipment, you’ll be able to explore multiple IT operating systems and a variety of network and server set-ups, including Windows, Linux and Apple. We’ve got over 540 dedicated, high performance PCs, a specialist Mac suite for iOS app development, and you’ll always be using industry-standard software on our courses.  Our Cisco Academy labs are designed for specialist courses in routing & switching and our computer labs are fully equipped for the building, maintenance and testing of systems & networks.

  • Whether you’re hacking or building, coding or testing, you’ll benefit from the expertise of all our staff who have years of experience in this field, alongside direct input from a number of businesses. You’ll get to earn vendor certificates and create your own projects. And we even have course partnerships with the likes of Microsoft, CISCO and Amaze (we’re the exclusive provider of this brand new computer science programme), ensuring you’re learning what you need to be at the forefront of the industry and benefitting from exciting work experience and employment opportunities.

  • If you’re just starting to explore computers and IT, we have a number of digital technology courses that can help lay the groundwork for success. As you expand your programming experience across the board, you’ll be able to advance on to a wide range of diplomas, foundation degrees and Bachelor of Science qualifications, each with their own unique focus.

  • You’ll find our main computing and IT department at our Openshaw Campus in east Manchester, easy to reach on major bus routes. Our largest and most advanced technology suites are here, supporting the university-level courses we offer, but you’ll also be able to take a number of introductory technology courses at our Harpurhey, Nicholls and Northenden Campuses.
